Cavo Tagoo, Santorini

Santorini, Greece: a dream destination known for its sweeping ocean views, unique architecture and unforgettable sunsets. Here, you’ll find coastal cliffs lined with white buildings, blue-domed churches and pink flowers as far as the eye can see. The Greek Archipelago, consisting of five Islands nestled in the Aegean Sea, is not only a popular place for summer vacations, bachelor and bachelorette parties and honeymoons, but also one of Greece’s top wedding destinations. On the five islands of Santorini, there’s no shortage of beautiful hotels and resorts to welcome you and your guests. Known locally as Thira, Santorini’s main island offers everything you could possibly wish for when it comes to hosting a spectacular Mediterranean destination wedding.

Ron and Vasoula got married at Cavo Tagoo Santorini, a five-star luxury resort located near the towns of Fira and Oia, and close to the local airport. It’s a favorite among brides and grooms to be. Thanks to the resort’s proximity to a number of charming town centers, you’ll have no issue planning your perfect itinerary. In Santorini, you can experience the best of everything the Greek Islands have to offer: Just like our couple did, you could hold your ceremony in one of the local historic churches or chapels, followed by a glamorous reception back at the resort, overlooking the ocean. To top it off, end your special day with a romantic stroll along the beach — mesmerizing sunset guaranteed.

Enjoy your dream wedding in white (and blue!) in Santorini, the heart of the Greek Islands.

More about Ron and Vasoula

The Meeting…
We met multiple times but it was Ronald’s “green hat” I stalked the third time seeing him. Who
said, a truckers hat cannot get you a date!?! Ronald placed his hat on the table with his keys
and wallet inside. I thought to myself, hmmm…I am not leaving this hat until we get each
others digits as he is definitely going to need it prior to leaving. At one point during this
duration, I was even holding myself from using the bathroom as I did not want to lose the opportunity to exchange phone numbers…

The Proposal…
It took place in our bedroom, Wink! Wink! Wink! I was working on my boyfriends laundry, nothing new as
he has a problem if one garment is left in his hamper…LOL and Ronald had placed a little blue
box under all the clothes as I was folding. Who said, laundry cannot buy you a diamond
ring…!!! When I first saw the box, I thought to myself…wow! “diamond earrings” but I was
wrong, thankfully, as my dream finally came TRUE. I knew I was about to spend the rest of my
life with the MAN OF MY DREAMS. As Ronald proposed, he highlighted how important it was
for me to have our wedding in Greece to be closer to my beloved Father who was my best
friend and Ronald as my husband today made my DREAM COME TRUE!!! I LOVE YOU TO PIECES
HONEY and THANK YOU FOR EVERYTHING YOU DO FOR ALL OF US!!!

What was your fondest wedding moment?
Vasoula’s fondest wedding moment…was walking down the aisle for the very FIRST TIME
watching the MAN OF MY DREAMS waiting for me and when we took our FIRST step in the
church as ONE during our Ceremonial Walk. I looked at my husband with tears running down
my face and whispered in his ear, “we are married” we took our first step as a couple which the
priest lead us around the table to empathize the focus of our “LIFE’S WALK” together.

Also, feeding Ronald the first piece of wedding cake as my Mother asked me if I had rehearsed
but it all came naturally as I was living in the moment to serve him as my KING, must watch the
video. Thereafter, was our incredible firework show which was amazing and blew all of our
family and friends away…

Ron’s favorite moments were:
The very personal, heartfelt speech at the end of the ceremony by Father Chris Kerhulas who
flew from Chicago to Greece to perform the ceremony, talking about the “moments” in life that
change and define our road in life.
Dancing the Zeibekiko (Drunk Dance) for the first time in front of an audience of 115 people –nailed it!
Kissing Vasoula during the photography shooting after the ceremony with a crowd around us,
feeling like we were the only 2 people on the island.

What advice do you have for future brides?

This is a really simple one word answer, “CALM” be relaxed as possible as you will find mistakes
but this is part of LIFE WHICH IS NORMAL and makes wonderful stories. My amazing and
talented makeup/hairstylist artists, said, I was the most calmest bride they have ever worked
on for all three days. Be true to yourself and understand the meaning of “marriage” is a
LIFETIME and being a “bride” to your “groom” is FOREVER. You are not celebrating one day but
an eternity!!! As much as it is about the bride it is also about the groom!!! It is about a Bride &
Groom preparing to walk together onto GODS narrow PATH. Pray, Hope and believe in Faith as
you become the future Mrs. as in every bride you will find uniqueness and beauty. The KEY is
to make sure you are not the perfect bride but you try your ALL to become the Perfect Partner
and Parent (remember the 3 p’s) as this will represent who you were as a BRIDE…
